Rog Chilvers

Rog Chilvers (Bass and vocals)

Having been steeped in blues, jazz, soul and rock for a number of years, Rog played and sang in a number of bands during his formative years. ‘Rule Number One’ was his first band, morphing into ‘Maelstrom’ and ‘From The Soul’ to name just a few. His musical influences are many and varied.

It was his love of progressive rock that inspired him to develop as a guitarist and singer. His passion for ‘the blues’ gave him fresh impetus to further expand and develop, and gave him the inspiration to bring his own compositions to musical life as a member of ‘The Electric Blueshouse Band’. Other collaborations with soul band ‘Night Train’, and rock bands ‘Bad Luck and Trouble’, ‘Redwing’ and ‘The Geoff Rodgers Band’ have followed. After taking a year out in Crete, playing with the Greek rock band ‘The Volcanoes’, Rog returned to the UK and is now working with the ‘Mandarins’. This latest musical venture is setting the bar high and is proving to be a most enjoyable and rewarding experience – teaming up with friend and previous band colleague, Mike. Singing and playing his bass with true passion, Rog believes that playing to live audiences is what it’s all about.
